We are ten days behind on Jade's well check. I don't know why, but that bothers me. Anyway, I took her in for her 2 year appointment this morning.
Here are her stats:
head circumference 90th percentile
weight 29 lbs 13.5 oz - 85th percentile
height 36 1/2 inches - 100th+ percentile
She is the tallest girl her age...off the charts.
That isn't what was most surprising to our doctor though. She was most amazed at Jade's verbal ability. Using 6-8 words in most sentences...pretty much carrying on a normal conversation.
I can't attribute it to anything I've done. More likely it is because she is constantly around her big sister who never shuts up. Did that sound rude? It wasn't intended to be. ;)
When I was telling Jerry about the doctor's comments on her verbal ability, he said, "Well, it's not every 2 year old that has to exclaim from the back seat, 'Be quiet. I'm talking now!', right?"
Right.
Now if I could just find those ear plugs of mine.

I know what you mean by the constant talking!! My 4 year old never shuts up, either, and I hate to feel that way, but sometimes I have to say, "Just zip it!" Alise doesn't know how to play the "Quiet Game"!
I so enjoyed this post! My daughter was like that at Jade's age but my two year old son is not a talker. Instead of learning from his brother and sister, he can't get a word in.
I had to giggle through this post. Hannah was the same way at her age. Rachel use to tell us from the backseat, "No! My song, I sing it myself!" That was her way of telling us to quit singing, I guess. Precious memories!
hahaha. her head makes up for the size of her brain that's holding all those words in it.
Wow, where did Jade get the tall genes?!?!?
My youngest was an early talker too, much for the same reason, older brother won't be quiet!
I read the other day that the average 4 year old asks 437 questions a day. Gotta love this stage!
I'm a little surprised that she has that much to say and that Lily hasn't done all the talking for her! That's what I am afraid of with #2
that is ALL very impressive for just turning 2! she outweighs makenna!
She sounds like a hoot! :)
Haha! Sounds like you have a chatty one on your hands!
That is too cute!
That's pretty funny! She is such a sweetheat and beautiful girl and now you know she is smart, too? Watch out!! I still haven't taken SP or Bear for their well checks and their birthdays are in April (I do feel bad).
Charlotte was (is) the SAME way for the SAME reason. If she wanted to get a word in, she had to speak long and loud!
