Cats gone wild!

I do NOT know what has gotten into our kittens. They are five months old now and it seems that they have forgotten that we rescued them and bottle fed them for weeks.

They have turned from:

darlings to devils
dainty to destructive
delicate to dominant
delightful to distressing

The list could go on and on...but basically, the more demolishing they do, the more dismayed I have become and long for them to disappear.

What do they do, you ask?

They CLIMB everything ...
the shower curtains
the regular curtains
the roman shades
even right up my body...nothing like feeling a cats claws grip the back of your jeans and make their way up your back.

Another of my favorites...
Orangi likes to climb up the back of my laundry room door.

I'll never forget the first time I rounded the corner with a load of fresh towels in my arms and found her staring at me.

I'm pretty sure I will need one of her nine lives to extend mine after that.

They have been helpful in one way over the last week though. Jerry has been out of town which makes me sleep very light, if at all. I've found that any little noise I've heard I've been able to easily dismiss by blaming it on the cats.

Yep, that is pretty much the only positive I can think of at the moment.

Oh, yes. Then there is the subject of the litter box. Oh my! I would rather change the diapers of ten babies than the litter box of two cats. I scoop it daily and that just about does me in. Their waste used to fill one large Dickey's cup, but now friends, it fills THREE. Absolutely degrading.

I've joked with Jerry that maybe we should try for a third...at least I wouldn't be allowed to change the litter box for nine months!

But that is all about to change...they are getting fixed this week and then we are moving. And when we move into the new house, they are getting the biggest litter box ever. It is called the backyard, the front yard....heck, the neighbor's yard. I don't care!

Yep, the once abandoned feral kittens are returning to the outdoors.

I'm just hoping they don't find my window to meow at in the middle of the night.

In case I disappear...

don't assume it is because I'm buried under boxes.

Although we do close tomorrow on both the sale of this home and the purchase of our new one, we won't be moving until late next week.

After walking into my office, I'm scared that I may go missing for a different reason.

This is what my boss just hung above my desk:

I am not even kidding. Had I known it was going to happen I surely would have brought my good camera for the full effect. The cell phone pic will have to suffice.

I'm actually less scared of it eating me than I am of it falling on me.

Did I mention my boss is a hunter? Yup. As if the eyes of the two bucks, turkey and other minor animals on surrounding walls weren't enough on me. Now a mountain lion prowls behind me. Dear Lord.

It is secured with one bolt. Into a stud, of course, he assures me. Then laughs at the odds of it falling during the two days I work up there. I went ahead and paid up our worker's comp policy after that.

The funniest thing was when I called it a bobcat. Sincerely. I just don't know these things...but apparently bobcats are much smaller than mountain lions.

So far, the kitten still hangs. But believe me, there will be pictures when it falls.

Hopefully not on me.

Matchy, Matchy !?!

I love matching PJs for the girls. These were the ones I bought for Christmas morning and that they those to wear to preschool for PJ day.

Who can pass up PJs with little tutus? Not me.

Of course I also like to go matchy, matchy with Christmas outfits and church clothes. I know my days are numbered for this for two reasons....first, the girls are going to eventually tire of it and realize they aren't twins. And secondly, they're sizes aren't in the same department at many stores anymore. That last reason is much more likely to stop me than their whining would.

They wore these outfits to their Christmas program and several other holiday get togethers.

I tend to go matchy, matchy in other areas of life too...which totally gets on my husbands nerves. Whether it is home decor or my own wardrobe, I lean towards overly matching rather than loosely coordinating. In home decor I buy too much red. Clothing? Black is the color of choice. I've been made fun of for that for years now. Hasn't changed me though!

You should be proud that although we started out with 3 black kitties and one orange one that these are the two we ended up with. Orangi is a girl and Blacki is a boy.

For now anyway...they have a little operation scheduled for next week.

Two black cats would have been perfect...but Orangi had stolen Lily's heart. Oh well.

Where do you fall? Are you a matchy, matchy type? Hopefully I'm not alone.

I'm back....I promise!

Wow. Long time no blog! I've missed the blog world...mainly catching up with you guys...but also posting pics and stories of my girlies.

I also got the nudge from the ads over there ====> because they noticed I had gone missing! Oops.

If only they earned me enough to stay in Hawaii for a few weeks while someone else came to pack, clean and move my house.

Back to blogging!
