I am so spoiled. I am getting another girls getaway this weekend. This time with the ultimate girlfriend...my one and only sister! I never do this sort of thing, and now the opportunity has presented itself twice. Twice in 4 weeks. Well, I'm just not one to pass up an opportunity.
We're on our way to Cajun Country. Natchitoches. Say that 5 times fast! It actually isn't pronounced anything like it looks. It took me forever to find it on Google.
Natchitoches, Louisiana, I am so excited to meet you. I can't wait to taste your fine dining, stroll your lovely streets, shop at your fantastic boutiques, float on your river, tour a few of your 31 B & Bs, and discover whatever else it is that you have to offer.
This is the town where they filmed Steel Magnolias. What an awesome place to spend a weekend with your best friend, your confidant, your sister.
I know it may seem odd to be going out of town during Mother's Day weekend. But hey, I figure there isn't a better way to be appreciated than to leave the hubby in charge for a while. Poor thing. He has a broken toe and just learned that is parents are going to be out of pocket this weekend. Looks like he'll be flying solo. Hope this doesn't happen again!
