Perfume...what is your fave?

Perfume. Oh how it dates us and brings back memories all at the same time.

My current fave...though it isn't anything new...is Ralph.

Just a couple of weekends ago we were all sitting around and talking fragrance.

Past faves of mine are mostly ones by Estee Lauder. But I also wore Clinique Happy for quite a while.

Remember Colors de Benetton? Not sure that I spelled that right. And oh my word, Sunflowers. That is one I'll never forget.

For guys, high school memories are filled with Eternity, Obsession, Drakkar, and Cool Water. Some guys must have thought Cool Water was for bathing in. Or drinking perhaps.

I am probably too cautious when putting on perfume. Erring on the side of too little vs. too much. Perhaps forever scarred by those who bathed in Cool Water back in the day.

When our conversation of perfume was going on that weekend, my sister schooled me in perfume application. Apparently I've been doing it all wrong. She mentioned things like spraying it in the air and walking through...making sure to get it in your hair. Maybe that is why one bottle lasts me so long. I am not spraying it enough or in the right ways or places.

As far as other memories, any scent of Estee Lauder's Youth Dew immediately brings me to my Grandma Shirley. A sniff of Chloe or Shalimar? I'm hugging my mother's neck. I love how fragrances can do that.

What is your current fave? What about past memories? How do you apply it? Do you wear it everyday, or only on special occasions?

Ooooo, girl, we have the exact same taste.

LOVED Colors. And the Calvin Klein colognes make me feel like I have a big crush on a 15 year old.

My mom is Estee Lauder Private Collection. Smells that bring back Grandma: Avon lipstick, Final Net and Ivory Soap.

I didn't even think about the guys' scents. Drakkar was my absolute favorite. I dated a guy briefly (one I let get away I might add) that wore that scent. I went as far as to purchase the candles in the same scent from the mall at Wicks N Sticks just so I could have that scent nearby at any chosen moment! And, speaking of Shalimar...I wore that just yesterday. Its a fave of my moms and I just decided, what the heck, and I spritzed it on! I think our sense of smell & hearing are 2 of the best memory keepers our bodies were designed with. Have a great day!

I love most of the Este Lauder perfumes...right now the only one I have is "White Linen". I need to buy me some more perfume! I usually only wear it if I'm going out, because I don't think the daycare babies care too much what I smell like. :o)

LOL! I cetainly remember Colors and boys bathed in Cool Water or Drakkar....ugh!

I've been searching for 2 years for a "new" scent for myself. Tired of Bath & Body mists that wear off too quickly....or maybe I'm just applying it incorrectly....hehe

Recently, I discovered DKNY's Be Delicious. I love it and try to spray more on myself, as I have also been guilty of not using enough in fear of reeking.

I use perfume almost every day, either to smell good as I go out all dressed and ready for the day, or on my way to the gym to mask any B.O. that I might not notice b/c I'm too used to it. hahaha
