We kept her party simple and stress-free. Just an evening at Chick-Fil-A with a few of her closest friends. We left without a drained pocketbook and no more gray hairs sprouting.
Most of all though, our new six year old felt honored and celebrated.
And judging from this picture, though six is definitely older, it seems like her silliness is going to be sticking around for a while.
Although I could easily write 6000 words describing my Lily at this point in her little life, I am going to challenge myself to describe her in just SIX.

Wow, that really leaves a lot out. I am going to ponder the rest on my own...as I take a shower before grabbing her from kindergarten. I don't want one of her descriptive words of me to be STINKY!

Your daughter is a doll. I'm especially smitten with the freckles. I know how you feel though. Honestly, I have a hard time embracing every new birthday age. It takes me quite awhile, and I usually succeed right before their 'next' birthday. I have three that just turned 8, and I remember their birth like it was yesterday. I wish all of my would stop growing up so fast. The best I can do is freeze time with my camera, and I do a whole lot of that!!
