I am a stay at home mom who is trying to remain humored by the material my little girls provide me with on a daily basis.
What else? Let's see...I love sneaking quiet moments with my hubby, could go antique shopping every day, and enjoy gardening...even pulling the weeds!
I have recently been diagnosed with a couple of brain tumors-an acoustic neuroma and a meningioma. Thankfully both are benign, just large and not very fun to remove. I haven't blogged for a while, but am reviving it to post prayer requests and updates on my health in a manner that friends can access easily. Thanks for following along!
Confession: I dislike the mess of painting so much that I feel the need to take pictures when we do it just to prove that I did say yes at least one time out of the 792 times that they asked.
Never mind the fact that it had been raining for days and there were absolutely no other choices for activities.
My mommy will be proud that I used "dislike" vs. "hate". She taught me well.
Today must be the day for confessions. I started my post that way today as well.
So funny because my boys can destroy a room with toys and make a huge mess in noting flat, but when it comes to painting, cooking, play-doh etc they are neat freaks!
Good for you for getting out the paint even though you hate the mess. The pictures are wonderful! I can tell they had fun. I don't let my kids paint near enough and it's just because I don't make time for it.
I am SO with you on this one! It's so much work to set it all up and then clean it up afterwards that it's just not worth it sometimes. That's why you save it for the rainy days right??? Good thinking! ;)
I also dislike the mess of painting...or any other craft for that matter and ALWAYS feel guilty for saying no. From now on, I will also take pictures to show the girls when I say no..which is 75% of the time. hahaha thanks, Kerry!

My "dislike" was always playdoh--no matter how I stressed to do it sitting down at the table, I always ended up with little globs stuck in the carpet.

So THAT'S why I take pictures when we do a craft. There's a method to a mom's madness. hehe... Good job, mom!
Beautiful pictures! Have you thought about framing them? Also, was that "washable" paint?
I'm so glad I'm not the only one. It usually takes longer for me to set up and clean up than my girls are interesting in the actual painting. Grrr!!
i am with ya! i hate painting!! it always ends up in me cleaning up the mess and makenna in the bath.

Painting drives me crazy too! We always have fun when I agree to it, but it's so much work to set up and clean up. Ugh!
