Things I probably shouldn't admit

That it is 12:17 AM and I know I should be in bed, but I am still up. I will regret it in the morning and promise myself that I'll go to bed earlier...and won't.

I've been working too many hours and it is really showing up in the form of chaos in our home.

The light beamed in at just the right angle earlier today and exposed some freakish cobwebs on my walls/ceilings. How long have they been there? Who else has noticed them and not said anything, but sure thought something?

I got pulled over again tonight. Rolled through a stop sign apparently. I was in my husband's truck and couldn't find proof of insurance. His inspection also just expired 8/31. And I only got a warning. This is unbelievable to me because up until last week, I had never gotten a warning...ever. Only stinkin' expensive tickets. Last week I got a warning for going 42 in a 30. I've driven that road for 3 years and always thought it was 40. 2 little girls witnessed mommy getting caught disobeying. Very humbling. Now Lily always asks me if I'm driving too fast. I'm just thankful she wasn't with me in the truck tonight.

Why do I do things/eat things/say things that I wouldn't want them to do/eat/say? Total depravity. Thank you Lord that you provide rescue. Thank you for using my kids to sanctify me over and over and over again.

And last but not least on the list of things that I probably shouldn't admit...I turned the sprinkler on out back a bit ago. Now it is raining, thundering and lightning so bad that I am too chicken to go turn it off.

When Jerry figures out what I did and the probable flood I caused, I'm glad I can distract him with the fact that I got pulled over in his truck with no proof of insurance anywhere to be found, boasting an inspired inspection sticker...and got off with just a warning.

And now I really am going to bed...

I have decided that kids are a part of the refiners fire. Lot's of dying to self and looking in the mirror going on at my house.

Glad you have a little ammo in your pocket for the sprinkler issue... Sorry Jerry Lynn, but I think she may have this battle won.

John got pulled over for speeding over Thanksgiving break last year and the boys STILL talk about "catching up with the police man," especially when we drive down that particular road. John hates it but I just tell him it's the consequences of his sin, ha! I can't believe you keep getting off with just a warning! Those FM police must be soft! ;)

You are one lucky lady is all I can say!! That would have never happened to me! I get busted every time. And just to let you in on a little secret, I still get the heeby-jeebies over "closet monsters"! LOL! Have a great (long) 3 day weekend!

What amazes me most is all the commentary I get when I drive, yet I'm WAY, WAY, WAY behind on the ticket/warning/accident ratio.

Your Husband.

First off, I hear you about household chaos. Mine is a mess and I just don't care too much right now. I'm trying to write a paper for Business Law and keep up with the kids. The paper is due tomorrow, so maybe the house will get picked up on Sunday.

And your last paragraph of your post made me laugh out loud. Your husband's comment was too funny too!

Thanks for admitting all this...it makes the rest of us feel normal :)

Oh, girl. Working too many hours? Raising my hand right here. My house is trashed - I finally made myself do some cleaning on Friday, and felt so much better. There are just not enough hours in the day. Are you still working from home?

What a week you had!! :)

I've totally been called out by my kids for traffic violations...it's a little humilating!
