Some people dye eggs to hunt them...

But us? We play school with them. In a British accent. Until the Duke strikes!

And then we throw a fit...wow, that was ugly. My apologies for the camera jiggle due to laughter.

I am just glad I was able to laugh. It was Friday morning and Jerry was long gone when the girls woke at six AM. By 8:30, we had drank milk, played, eaten breakfast, and dyed 3 dozen Easter eggs. Whew! Felt like midnight to me, yet Lily was still fresh enough to pull off that accent. Laughter needed.

Some pics before the eggs met their demise:

And a little craft made at the toy store this morning:

Again, way too early in the morning. When we got to the toy store, I asked where the regular Saturday morning craft was. The lady replied that it doesn't start til 10:30. Duh! We were early...had played an 8AM soccer game, eaten breakfast, walked to the toy store...and it was only 10:00AM. I need some sleep!

Regardless,

Happy Easter, Y'all!

Good thing Easter isn't just about the bunny...

otherwise Lily and Jade wouldn't have been able to celebrate.

We went early Friday morning to do an Easter breakfast and egg hunt at the botanical garden. The girls couldn't even concentrate on breakfast when the Easter Bunny got too close.

Jade's face cracks me up! I do agree that huge bunnies are a little strange! At least Santa is life size.

It did seem a little weird to be enjoying egg hunts on Good Friday, but all the other dates had sold out.
The girls really seemed to understand the Easter story this year. It seemed to especially sink in with Lily although Jade was definitely absorbing some of the facts if not the meaning. We opened up a new Resurrection Egg each evening after dinner and felt the anticipation of the empty tomb build. So thankful the Lord conquered the grave!

On Easter morning, Daddy was in charge of getting the pre-church photos while I finished getting ready. I think he did a great job getting some shots in front of the Dogwood tree.

Decorating the cross at church...

It was a great weekend! Jerry didn't have any church meetings due to the holiday so we really enjoyed getting to ride to church together as a family and hanging out at Gramma's that afternoon.

The cousins had fun...and I chuckled to learn that even big cuz' Avery shared in their Easter Bunny fears...he had to deliver her basket and goodies to my sister's car because Avery forbid him to enter the house!

Reminded me of when Lily requested Santa to use FedEx to deliver her gifts. Ah, kids!

Easter in Pictures

So, at one point all of these pics were arranged randomly, yet cutely, in a manner that didn't cause headaches or blurred vision. Then I hit post and they ended up on top of one another. And I'm just too tired to fix it...my apologies.

It has just been one of those days. I wish I was laughing at some other mother who had both kids, plus herself, fed, dressed, and packed up early on a Monday morning to get to swim lessons ON TIME, but then couldn't find her keys. This mother looked everywhere...including the car, two purses, upstairs, downstairs, the diaper bag, the car again, the purses again...ugh. Then an hour later, after getting her daughter out of her swimsuit and explaining for the 100th time why they were NOT going to swim lessons after all, she checked her purse on more time and there were the freakin' KEYS.

Unfortunately that would be THIS MOTHER. *sigh*

So anyway, you are looking at a real mess of pictures. Basically two egg hunts (a third one wasn't photographed)...one at a community park and the other at my Dad and Kim's house.

Yes, the parents played a relay game of carrying an egg on the spoon...the girls won both times. And the little girl with Lily towards the end is Mia...Lily's best neighbor buddy who is just 4 days younger. That's all folks!
