A Heavy Heart

Wow. Blogging has really fallen by the wayside as of late. I think between Jerry's new job, and house contracts, repair negotiations, private school application submissions, etc...the time to blog has evaded me.

The little things that have surfaced to the blogging part of my brain also have just seemed very trivial these past few weeks. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the very next post after this serious one will be something quite ridiculous, but for now my heart is heavy.

We are in the midst of a church change after Jerry returning to the staff of our old church, but for the past few years we were a part of The Village Church. The Village is lead by an amazing communicator of the gospel, Matt Chandler. He is a young gifted pastor, married to an even younger beautiful wife, and father of 3 precious children. The oldest one whom my daughter absolutely adores.

I won't go into all the details as they can be found on facebook, various blogs, twitter and the like, but I do ask you to pray for Matt and his family. After having a seizure on Thanksgiving day, he was found to have a brain tumor on his right frontal lobe. A good part of it was removed. The pathology report shows it to be malignant.

Oh how my heart aches for this family. My husband has been struck hard by it too. The Lord is sovereign. Nothing reaches His people that hasn't first passed through his hand. The Chandlers have been steadfast and nothing but a pure ray of wholesome testimony through this trial. But we still weep with them.

Please join me in praying for them as they visit with two physicians today seeking treatment options.

Perhaps you are one of the 40,000+ people that have joined the "Praying for Matt Chandler" page on Facebook, or maybe you have no clue who this gifted man is. You can click this link to watch a short video of him taped right before his surgery. I guarantee you will be challenged and encouraged.

Thanks for sharing, Kerry! It;'s amazing how God stands fast around his servants. How he uses all things to his glory.

I totally understand the blog lag. Seems like when there is the most to blog it is the hardest to find the time or organize the thoughts to do it. The whole moving thing totally took me off track!
