One Sick Tater

Our little Jader Tater has been SICK.

I am so thankful for our healthy kids. I realized yesterday as Jade threw up for no less than the 8th time, that our kids are rarely sick. Which makes me at a loss for what to do when they are ill.

Here are some other realizations from the day:

Piggy pillow didn't mind getting close.

But mama preferred to keep her distance. Her feet didn't stink, but the puke sure did.

Kids become disoriented when they are feverish. She walked right by two toilets trying to find a place to throw up. Found me and then vomited on the carpet. Great. That is when I realized that dogs don't just eat their own vomit. Nice.

And then, ahh....she slept. For three hours. On his side of the bed of course. ;) She also puked there.

Tornadoes don't take a break for the sick. Don't be fooled by the color in her cheeks. That was just the fever showing!

Don't they look thrilled? Just about as much as we were to have them up after they had already been sleeping soundly.

Thankfully the storms passed over us and it seems like the tummy bug has passed too.

Some people dye eggs to hunt them...

But us? We play school with them. In a British accent. Until the Duke strikes!

And then we throw a fit...wow, that was ugly. My apologies for the camera jiggle due to laughter.

I am just glad I was able to laugh. It was Friday morning and Jerry was long gone when the girls woke at six AM. By 8:30, we had drank milk, played, eaten breakfast, and dyed 3 dozen Easter eggs. Whew! Felt like midnight to me, yet Lily was still fresh enough to pull off that accent. Laughter needed.

Some pics before the eggs met their demise:

And a little craft made at the toy store this morning:

Again, way too early in the morning. When we got to the toy store, I asked where the regular Saturday morning craft was. The lady replied that it doesn't start til 10:30. Duh! We were early...had played an 8AM soccer game, eaten breakfast, walked to the toy store...and it was only 10:00AM. I need some sleep!

Regardless,

Happy Easter, Y'all!

The girl can make a list...

My time playing Jerry's assistant up at the church has come to an end! Though it was fun and the extra $$$ will be missed, I am super excited to have life back to "normal".

The girls are on Spring Break, and we are about to venture on our first ever camping trip as a family. I suggested that Lily make a list of items she would like to take camping:

Sorry the first two are blurry...I guess I am not good at the iPhone camera. Anyways, when she realized she had misspelled "dog" as "god"....she quickly decided that we need to bring Him along too!

Why yes, we are bringing our DOG! Meet our new puppy, Duke!

He is our 12 week old German Shepherd! Lily refers to him as our German Pepper. ;) I am most worried about the breed's nickname of German Shedder though!

More info to come on him later.

Back to the camping packing list, in order left to right, top to bottom:

tent, sleeping bag, backpack, God, dog, book, okra, bike, leash, bug spray, sunglasses, camera, sunscreen, game, 100 piece puzzle, Bob Book, and puppy food.

I think the only item not making the cut is the fried okra! Though it might be worth trying!
